As you prepare for the process of airbrushing, it is mandatory to get a shower first. This will enable any dirt and deadly cells to be washed away. This in turn brings out a clean skin which is best suitable for brushing.

Application of any oils or moisturizer should be avoided when preparing for the tanning. There is a tendency of the airbrush liquid not sticking in case the skin is moisturized. Instead, you should just do a thorough dry up of your skin after showering.

The first thing to do is to get off any heavy clothing and remain with loose garment that does not cover a large skin surface. This is vital as it will help you in getting a complete tan coverage. Even the drying process will be faster if you wear loose clothing.

Start the brushing of the first layer from the foot as you move upper to the knee area. After this layer dries up, another addition can be added gently. The shade will however determine whether to add up more layers or use the initial layer.

The next areas to be tanned are the thighs and the upper body in general. When it comes to the arms and elbows, more care should be taken so that creasing issues do not arise. Light pressure application is the best option in these areas as too much pressure will cause an overlap of the tan.

The neck and shoulders should also be evenly coated by proper tanning. When it comes to your back, it is advisable to enlist a friend to help out. It could be quite difficult in reaching the far angles if you carry out the back tanning by yourself.

Putting your legs and arms open helps in facilitating the drying process. This is to try and avoid the skin being in contact with other areas until it dries up entirely. It is even better if you use a blow dryer as this will aid in the process of drying.

After the tan dries up, a moisturizer can now be used to keep it fresh. A light soap wash can also be used to keep your tan in a perfect state for a longer time. Avoiding exfoliation is necessary as this can get rid of the top layer where your tan is.

Applying a tan extender cream is another important part of airbrush sun tan as it helps the tan to stay for a longer time. Alcoholic application should however be avoided because it can result to un-planned removal of the tan due to its effect on the skin. With proper care, you can take up to two or three weeks before another re application.
