By Wanda Spillberg

With fashion being discovered in bikinis and swim wear it is found that women look forward to flaunt their body and attract men towards them. They are always in search for the best, quickest, most comfortable and the easiest method to remove hair, especially the area that is exposed in bikinis. Currently one of the most preferred way to get the hair removal done is by using the IPL method or Intense pulse light.

Intense Pulse Light otherwise also known as IPL, is named as such due to the use of light energy involved in it, which is converted into heat energy that helps remove the unwanted hair. Irrespective of the point that it is known to be a laser treatment however no actual laser is used in the hair removal process. IPL is not only used to remove the unwanted hair form the body but also used for the treatment of pigmented skin.

The spectrum of light available to IPL lasers is not like the traditional lasers, as it can only use one single wavelength. This not only allows the IPL lasers to adjust their intensity by filtering their wavelengths manually. This feature not only helps to treat unwanted hair but also treat several skin conditions like aging, damage from the sun and so on.

IPL is becoming more common nowadays as a hair removal treatment for unwanted hair. As it delivers a focussed laser bean that completely destroys the hair follicle and therefore the hair fails to grow back.

IPL is used to treat several things such as acne and facial problems, which might include around six sessions, after which even the dermatologist shall take consultation to make sure if more sessions are needed. Just after the treatment starts the hair starts to fall out, which can last for almost two weeks. After the treatment you can find the skin getting reddened or get soar, but it is temporary effect and will not last for very long. IPL hair removal treatment is painful however it depends on the skin and differs from person to person.

Most people find IPL hair removal method very uncomfortable, which is due to the presence of intense energy released from light and heat. However a cooling technology is used with it that keeps the patients comfortable but it does not help it to release all the treatment related pain.

Although the IPL treatment is found soothing to most of the skin types however it is more preferable for the individuals with light skin and dark haired individuals. It is found that the traditional hair removal laser also showed low re-growth of hairs; however the use of IPL prohibits the issue of regrowth of hair.

As the IPL lasers have already made their way as a skin rejuvenating solution but now have grown rapidly as a hair removal treatment too. As they can be used for wider areas, therefore the treatment is well suited for hair removal.
